    SVCD or VCD?

I realize SVCD is better quality than VCD. What does that mean to me if I'm downloading movies whether to burn them as VCD or SVCD.

What program do you reccomend me using? I've been using Nero so far, TMPEG doesn't work well for me at all.

    Thanks,
    Josh

If you want to burn as a vcd, then the resolution of the movie shoudl be rather poor, for example tv rips which are usually 352x288. However if you download a dvd-rip, then the quality is usually very good, and thus you should be able to create a nice-looking svcd, which gives you a better resolution.

Can you let us know why tmpgenc doesn't work for you, or what errors you are getting when trying to convert or do otherwise in TMPGenc. The most common people have is probably that it crashes when loading up a file. Let us know what the problem is, becuase it is by far the best conversion tool around. You can try some other conversion tools if you want, the useful site can be found here
