    TMPG Encoder problem

I have gotten an error message in the same spot twice about 2 hours into the encoding process. I re-ripped after the first error message with all default perameters (smartripper), then used DVD2AVI with ForceFIlm enabled. Then opened TMPG Encoder, used the DVD2AVI project file and audio file..loaded template VCD(NSTCFilm). At 22% each time on TMPGEncoder i get the following error message:

Write error occurred at address 004028E1 of module "TMPGENC.EXE" with 00880CD8

Any help to correct this would be appreciated. Maybe a webpage with precise instructions on how to use those three programs I am trying to use now would be possible. I am even open to the idea of an entirely different process with different software, but a webpage/txt with instructions for the new process would be helpful.

Did you check to see if the ripped DVD file itself played properly through the point of your TMPGEnc hangup?

There isn't a way to see the result until after the TMPG Encoding. I don't have/know the means to view the VOB files after SmartRipper, then I "save project" as next step. That can't be viewed because that is only a map of the VOBs to load into TMPG. I tried "save avi" to view it, but doesn't work. So I can only see the result AFTER TMPG. I can view the movie clip encoded before the error, works great. TMPG just seems to be hitting a snag somewhere, I figure in the configuration.

      Still in need of help...
The movie is Deep Blue Sea...in case there is a history of unsuccessful attempts with this particular movie

I will try a different movie, but I still want to nip this problem for future use of the solution

        TMPGEnc 2.02.31.119 Problem

I get an error on all of my .avi files. What is causing this? Is it fixable? This has happened on the Jay and Silent Bob movie and Not Another Teen Movie.
