COnverting DivX into VCD problems

Hi folks,

I have some DivX coded movies and I would like to watch them with my stand-alone DVD-player. To do so I have to encode the file into VCD. I've tried it several times with TMPGEnc. But every time when I watch the VCD on the DVD-palyer I get a vertically stretched screen. The black bars from the wide-screen are gone and I see stretched heads all over the place in full-screen.

Maybe some of you know this problem and I would be glad if someione could tell me what to do to keep the right screen format including the black bars.

In TMPGEnc you can specify the aspect ratio of the vcd, be sure that it is the same as that of the avi file that you are converting.
