    need help with mpeg2

I need some assistance and sorry I am new to all this

I am in the process of taking ASF files and converting them to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc and all works fine on my pc ,meaning to fast forward and rewind work fine

but when i use VCDeasy to burn to cd , my Cyberhome ch500 dvd player cannot rewind at all and only go fast forward at the slowest speed

how can a make sure an mpeg2 file has the indexing that is correct so a finished SCVD can rewind and fast forward correctly ???

thanks for any help that works !

VCDEasy usually burns/creates the bin files correctly...are you sure its just the brand of media you are using that your dvd player doesn't like?

There are mixed results to your model on this site.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

      continued

      ASF files are the worst

the media I am using works fine ,I have burned other mpeg2 files with VCDeasy that do fast forward and rewind !

are you indicating that VCDeasy is the problem?

is there any other software that makes svcd from mpeg2 files?

also another question the program ASF TOOLS does have a function to index ASF files so they are Seekable, Is there any kink of program that can do that for mpeg2 files ?

I have looked on the web and there is nothing that I can find

"is there any other software that makes svcd from mpeg2 files?"

Use TMPGEnc to convert your .ASF files to "MPEG2-SuperVideoCD" format rather than "plain vanilla" MPEG-2. then use NERO to simply BURN as SVCD (NOT convert, since you'll have already converted the format in TMPGEnc).

          thank you !

          Problem solved and thanks setarip

SVCD programs are not all the same in my case

VCDeasy 114 is the problem and tried Nero with mp2 plugin !with the same mpeg 2 files and rewind fast forward worked great

seems in my case VCDeasy 114 is at fault

the files in question were off the web ASF files converted to mpeg2 then VCDeasy 114 could not index the mpeg2 files correctly

I wonder if anyone else has had trouble with EasyVCD like me

          thanks !
