AVI to SVCD or VCD using TMPGEnc

I am trying to convert what I believe is a Divx AVI to a VCD or SVCD but when I tried to load it with TMPGEnc I get an error that is either unsupported file type or corrupt. The file is not corrupt as I am able to play at with ATI media player. Any help will be appreciated thank you.

try loading the divx file into virtualdub, and go
file-->file information
and post here everything you see. a screen capture would be nice.

TMPGEnc doesn't support VBR..

Load file in VDub
Set Audio tab to Full Processing Mode
Set Convertion to 44,100Hz
Compression is set to Uncompressed PCM
File-->Save WAV...
Set Video tab to Direct Stream Copy
Set Audio tab to No Audio
File-->Save AVI...

Load silent .avi and wav in TMPGEnc..

A .WAV audiostream of this size is NOT out of the ordinary for a video of almost two hours duration...

Wav Size

Wav was made with VirtualDub, I was able to load the resulting 2 files with TMPGEnc but the out put file is not the same letter box style and the picture seems to be stretched vertically. Is there a way to correct this? Again thanks for the help everyone.

Can you tell me why not to compress the wav when ripping it from the avi

Try the following in TMPGEnc (for VCD):

Click the "Video" tab and change applicable settings to: 352X240 (PAL 352x288), 4:3 (NTSC or PAL as appropriate) 525 Line. Click the "Advanced" tab and change applicable settings to: "16:9 Display", either "Fullscreen (Keep Aspect Ratio)" or "Center (Keep aspect ratio)", and 352x240 (PAL 352x288).

thanks for your help everyone, I was able to configure TMPGEnc to output the video in the desired format. But was also able to split the file and burned on to 2 CD-RW disks which played perfectly on my DVD player.......... However while viewing this film I have noticed a purple tint that gradually appears that becomes stronger and then suddenly the picture goes back to the normal color. Does anyone have an idea on how to correct this or what might be causing it and how I might correct.
