Need Help Gauging File Size

I have tried a few different vid calculators for SVCD, including FitOnCD and VidCalc, and keep ending up with oversized vids, especially when EascyVCD wants to add padding on the fly. I would like some advice on how to best estimate the file size of a vid which is SVCD compliant. Feel free to share all of your tips and secrets. Thanks.

In TMPGEnc, in the wizard, there is a cd/dvd filesize calculator. Try that.
