TMPGEnc unsupported or cannot open error

When using the TMPGEnc program to convert i can sometimes convert the movies without a problem but for most of them it will not allow me to it gives a cannot open or unsupported error? but i will go and try that same avi file on my friends computer using the TMPGEnc program and it wrks fine everytime, do you know why this is?

I get the error when going to select an avi file to convert it comes up right away and wont let that file in the program but if you do just audio it will.

Yes i have installed that it runs in a dos prompt is that correct.

I am having the same problem, I am trying to use TMPGEnc and I select a video souce, the one that i amtold to use is a .D2V file, because I saved the DVD2AVI project. the dang thang says that it is not supprted. I am using this guide here, http://www.vcdhelp.com/pinoy2201sdvdrippinguide.htm , I know that it works, I have done it b4, is this due maybe to the vfapi plug in?

      To cuzharrell

Have you installed the requisite, provided companion VFAPI plugin?

        I had the same trouble.

I installed the tsunamo encoder and then the avi files could be opened.

Maybe that might help you too.
