    Ms Mpeg-4

    how do i convert this type of file to mpeg that i can use on a VCD?, i have tried TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152 and can have had good results with DivX, but when i try these I get sond and no picture, any ideas???
    I have tried Xing but every time ive downloaded it i get an install error.

    MS-MPEG 4 v3 I believe contains some restrictions, perhaps this is the reason why TMPGEnc is unable to process the video of your file.

    Try this first, change the fourcc code used/description to div3 or divx or dx50. Then try loading it in TMPGEnc.

    You can try converting your MS-MPEG4 v3 file to divx/xvid if possible.

      Either take Batman's first suggestion of changing the FOURCC code to Div3 - the FOURCC code of the DivX v.3.11alpha codec (which is, in fact a DIRECT hack of the MSMPEG4 codec) - or simply download and install the MSMPEG4 codec...

        cheers done now, converted to DivX using virtualdub, seems to work ok.
