    need help quick!

sorrry about th repost but i need help fast! LOL

bought full version of pinnacle studio 8.....encoded as full quality DV....burned as SVCD (still comes up as folders on my dvd player, have to go to SVCD folder, then choose my file to play)...the SVCD is awesome but still has the giant blocks every now and then and covers the whole screen.......burned as videoCD and it quality is pixely and doesnt look good.....it has the option to do "DVD" but it says it wont burn, (is this cos i dont have a dvd-burner? would it be the best bet to buy one?? or??)

my capture looks good, its the burning process that sucks and is messing it up.... i really need this to look good, i plan on selling my videos.

BTW my transfer rate is 12000 read 20000 write if that makes any difference

If you have already converted the file to a Mpeg-2 file just select no when it tries to convert.

          ok let me try that..

          EDIT:

burned the mpeg2 as VIDEOCD in nero (pushing the 'no' option to re-encode), wouldn't play in my DVD player.

burned the mpeg2 as SVCD in nero (also choosing the 'no' option to re-encode), it was great quality if it didnt have those huge blocks covering the screen again. :/

when i saw 'huge blocks' do you know what i mean? lol cos i can get a pic of it for you

also, in nero, it shows like 3-4 different folders it auto creates when burning a SVCD and VCD, where should i be putting this file? im just putting it at root and when it plays on my dvd, the file appears in the SVCD/MPEG folders

Just to tell ya you shouldn't burn a MPEG-1 to a SVCD and vice versa. As you found out that doesn't work

Not really... Are you using a bitrate that fills the whole disk? If not do that.

Ok. When it asked you what kind of CD you were going to put it on click on 80 min CD (if that is what you are using) then if it still doesn't fill the CD to the max move the slider where there is one MB left

                          1. When i capture the movie off my camera what format should it be in??
                          MPEG1(VCD),
                          MPEG2(SVCD), or
                          AVI(full DV capture)

                          2. What should i burn onto cd?
                          MPEG1(VCD),
                          MPEG2(SVCD), or
                          AVI

                          3. What program should i use to burn?
                          pinnacle studio
                          nero
                          roxio

                          4. If nero, shoud i burn as Video CD or Super VideoCD??

                          5. If VideoCD or SuperVideoCD, 3 or 4 folders appear in the burning dialog box where you drag the file. WHAT FOLDER should i drag the file into? Root?

I guess thats all i need to know to try again lol

fixed my problem...just went out and bought a dvd burner.

the "full dv capture" only holds like 40 something minutes but looks awesome!

any experience on what a mpeg2 would look like on a dvd? looking to get more footage on a dvd.
