How can I convert a SVHS video to a VCD video?

u need a TV card for that thing

then u connect your VCR with your TV card in your pc

Then u need to have installed the drivers of your tv card and the supplied player.

Then u should try some freeware capture progs like FreeVCR (for saving files in avi format with compression) or nanoDVR (mpeg1 already, but doesnt work 100 % at all) or any other prog.

If u got an avi file for example then u just have to convert the file to mpeg1 with TMpeg Encoder which u should find in the software section of this site.

If u got the mpeg then u burn it in VCD format on a CDR using the video wizard of the burning prog NERO. Note: converting avi to mpeg will make the file size some larger, but u can burn a VCD with Nero on a 700 MB CD nearly 780 MB mpeg1 files
