newbie... sound problems converting dvix to video cd using nero 5.5

Followed the tutorial for this put the cd in my standalone dvd player sound started for about 5 secs then went off, picture etc is all fine, tried the video cd in my computer same problem, has anyone any ideal what went wrong??

Hi Dave

Please tell us exactly what you did.
Did you process the .avi file directly in Nero?
If you did so, you may try to encode to mpeg1 with TMPGEnc, use the VCD wizard.
It is advisable to preserve the frame rate. Don't encode PAL (25fps) to NTSC (30fps) or the other way.

Then re-view the projected file on your computer, and if everything is OK, burn it to give it another try.

Also you can check you standalone DVD player for VCD (CDR) compatibility.
