LOTR Two Towers Subtitles

I've had this movie on my hard drive for over a month now and still i don't know how to convert it to svcd with the "elvin" subtitles in place in the movie.

i generally use TMPgenc to encode my movies to svcd and this is the first time i've encountered this problem.
hopefully someone can give me some tips on how to solve this problema nd help me freeup another 7.7 gig by getting the movie onto cd.

i have numerous different dvd programs for ripping and converting but i need some serious help to combat this problem.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i don't understand what you want to mean with "elvin" subtitles.

the movie has subtitles in certain parts of the movie and they speak in "elvin" which is their language.
the problem is getting the subtitles to show when the movie is ripped.....because they only appear on certain occasions.

Just one more question you have 2 different files one for the subtitles and other for the movie don't you??Because if you don't your question doesn't make sense.

I still have the files in their raw format....as in ripped from the dvd.
and as I said when i play it through windvd the special subtitles don' t appear but i read somewhere that they have to be added for the scenes in question.

I've never had to do this before with any movie so i'm really in the dark with this one.

any help here would be very much appreciated.

You will have to extract the subtitles from the main movie, using VobUtils for example.

To integrate the subtitles in the AVI that TMPGEnc is going to encode, you need VirtualDub and the VobSub dll. I don't have any links right now (and am too lazy to look up for that), so let me know if you need more help than that.

Basically, instead of having VOBS -> DVD2AVI -> TMPGEnc, you will have :
VOBS -> DVD2AVI -> VirtualDub (with VobSub) -> TMPGEnc

This way, the subtitles will be added to the AVI file VirtualDub is reading and using the Frameserve option, you will be able to serve that to TMPGEnc.

however i'm a TMPGEnc user but subtitles and the procedure of adding them is all new to me i'm afraid.

I've downloaded the programs you mentioned but i'm a little in the dark as to how to use them.

I won't ask you to explain in detail how to use them but I think it's gonna take a lot of trial and effort to get it right.

BTW, I got that by typing "VirtualDub VobSub DVD subtitles" in google. You might want to try that to get more infos on more specific problems
