    .SWF to MPEG-2 (urgent help!)

    hi,
i need to convert a flash animation to mpeg-2 format.

i have been converting the .swf file to an avi in one program and then converting the avi to mpeg-2 in another.

the avi looks fine but when i convert it to an mpeg-2 the end result is almost unusable -it is pixelated and jagged.

is there one program i can use to convert directly from flash to mpeg-2?
    what program would you recommend

thanks alot if you can help me!!!

That seems fine to me. Of course, it all depends on the codec you are using for your AVI.

the avi looks fine but when i convert it to an mpeg-2 the end result is almost unusable -it is pixelated and jagged.
Then you obviously have a problem with your MPEG-2 encoding. I don't think going from flash to MPEG-2 directly will solve this problem.

Can you post more infos on the procedure you used to transform AVI -> MPEG-2 ? I might be able to help you over there.

is there one program i can use to convert directly from flash to mpeg-2?
I don't know of any, and I don't think you'll find one, but that could just be my ambient pessimism

      2. mediaeasy 2.1.8 from http://www.presentersoft.com

let me know if you get luck to get your mpeg in good shape

        hi richard,
        thanks for your response.
i got a hold of a product called cinema craft encoder which converts avi files to mpeg.
i had tried a number of such products but this was the only one with a near perfect result
        cheers

You might want to look into a product called TMPGEnc. Converts AVI to MPEG1/2, a lot cheaper for an equal (if not better) quality... Plus you get a 30 days trial, so you can test it for free.

            Hi Terry,

How is your testing using the trial version of ABView or mediaeasy to convert swf to MPEG-2, it may be the easiest way.

movie clips in SWF files static in AVIs

For me, converting from SWF/FLA to AVI then to MPG has never been a problem as such, but when I decided to make a VCD of my animations, I found that, as the subject above states, the movie clips I had used were shown as static images in the AVI file created. Can anyone help? I'd love to know the cause and solution to this problem, assuming there is one. Thanks guys.
