    Maybe a latest question for you, specialists ...

    The calculation above allows, depending the the size of your movie, and the size of your media, to calculate the total bitrate for Audio and video ...

    But is there any proportion to respect for the Audio vitrate and video bitrate (Like 10% for the Audio, abd 90% for the video) ?

    If I understand well, the values should be 1150 for Video, and 224 for Audio ...


    when are you going to develop a tool to automatically calculate the bitrate, depending on the original anf final Movie size you want ???

      I would say that 128kbps is the minimum I can live with for audio. 224 is confortable and 384 is great (For mp2 audio). For MPEG-1 video at the VCD resolution, 1150 is pretty bad, 1500 is pretty good, 2000 is great. Of course, you cannot use thses bitrates unless your DVD player plays XVCD. Go to http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers to see if it is the case.

      Click on "DVD Digest", "Downloads", "Conversion tools", "Calculator Tools". There you go, tons of tools to compute everything you need and more to burn your VCDs, DVDs and SVCDs.

        In mode 2 (VCD-SVCD mode) and CD-Audio mode:
        74minCD=740MB,
        80minCD=800MB,
        90minCD=900MB...

        If you think about it:
        80 min of audio, is 4bytes/sample at 44100Hz, that is:
        - 44100x4=176400 bytes/sec
        - 176400*60*80=846720000bytes/80min
        -> There you go, 846720000B = 826875KB = 807MB.
        yes thnku, iv already searched and learnt all this after my post......... thnks anyway......though hav to try now perhaps sunday
        Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
