Problems with tmpge - encoding to vcd

Hi, I'm having problems encoding a particular movie in tmpge.
G-SPOT tells me that there is no problem - movie should play with no problem. It is of course a movie done in VBR. I have followed directions given to me on this site using VirtualdubMod and I've done 6 straight movies with no problem, until this one.
First off I'd like to know if I'm loading the movie correctly.........under video source I put in the movie file and under audio source I put in the file extracted from VirtualdubMod..............is this the correct method??.........how come I get all kinds of error messages right off the ball and tmpge won't let me encode it because of these errors????
    Can someone help me please???

I've scanned the video file also with VirtualdubMod and there are no problems with it according to VirtualdubMod.

If you do the following, it will result in only ONE new multiplexed file, ready for input into TMPGEnc:

Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

      1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

      2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

      3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

      4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save with a new filename

I purchased a copy of TMPGE, the installer program I downloaded refuses to install............it tells me the older version can not be removed and to contact vendor or check with MSDN??.........the zip file I downloaded opens and lets me enter my serial but man I got so many problems with error messages and so on and of course it doesn't really fully install because it doesn't show up in my add/remove in control panel............TMPGE of course doesn't respond to my e-mails...........any ideas to solve my problems??
I've tried everything, going into registry to delete anything under TMPGE or Pegasys and so on!!

The vendor (as you should know, since you state that you've purchased the program) is Pegasys, not TMPGE...

I have 2 questions, I encode vcd's to watch on my Television...........should I be using de-interlace or interlace while encoding? Also, I managed to screw up my settings on TMPGE in VFAPI plug-in settings.............can you tell me what the usual settings should be?
