I have downloaded some movies from Kazaa in a 352 x 240 rersolution. So when i copy it to a cdrw to view in my tv the picture is expanded and it does not look good. How can i get a better picture quality or how can i cange the resolution before copying it to a cdrw.

Just encode your AVI into an MPEG-1 file, with the TMPGEnc soft for ecample. Load your movie, load the VCD template.
Maybe you will need to use the "Source Range" option to split your file in several chunks (every chunk being 800MB MAX for a 80min CD).
Click encode.
You will have MPEG files that you can burn as VCD and watch on your DVD player (If it supports VCD)
BTW, SVCD format won't buy you anything here, stick with the VCD format. Maybe you can try to push up the bitrate if the quality is too bad. Check on http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers to see if your DVD player can play such VCDs with higher bitrate (called XVCD)"on the north side of 'wild-cat peak' the 'snow squaws' shake their winter blankets and bring forth a chill which rides the wind with goad and spur, hurling with an icy hand rime, and frost upon a dreamy land musing in the lap of Spring"Comment
