    Help, SVCD to anything

    Help!!!

    For some odd reason, the mpg files on the SVCDs I created play fine in Power DVD and WinDVD, but not in Media Player

    I tried converting them, but TMPGEnc won't convert, and Flask won't even open it. Is there any way to convert these.

    Thanks for any help

    "For some odd reason, the mpg files on the SVCDs I created play fine in Power DVD and WinDVD, but not in Media Player"

    There's no "odd reason" for this. It's simply that Windows Media Player doesn't recognize SVCD format (even if you've registered the MPEG2 filters with Windows).

    That's not correct. From within TMPGEnc, do the following:

    File>>MPEG Tools>>Merge&Cut
    Set the mode to MPEG2 (VBR) NOT "Super Video CD"
    Load your file
    Enter an output filename
    Press the "Run" radio button.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Thanks for your help

      I found another method at vcd-help.com that works

      I just went to MPEG Tools, and selected multiplex, I opened the file as Video and Sound Source, and Put in the name of an output file, and it removed the SVCD header, and put it pack as a MPEG-2 file

        Congratulations on finding another resource that works (by doing exactly the same thing I suggested doing under TMPGEnc) ;>}
