    Files too large?

Hey, first post here so be kind if I am posting this wrong or in the wrong place.

I have a number of mpg files to burn. 748-753mb in size.

I use Nero (latest version) and I have a burner that does support overburning. I know this as I went into Nero, selected recorders, and then selected my recorder from the list, and it says it supports overburning.

Anyway, when I try to burn, all I get is not enough space on disc for selected function or something to that effect.

The discs are 700 mb. discs.

I thought I read I could do this, but apparently not.

Do I need to cut these files down in size?

    thanks.

is your mpeg vcd video format mpeg1?

then did u use the nero wizard to create a VCD (think it should be in the option other formats at beginning, no simple data cd!), then u should be able to drag the file to nero and u see if it fits on your cd.

I had the same problem. I then switched to Winin CD 5.0, and now I can burn a 750 mb video cd file on a 700 mb cd. If youre cd writer has over burn protection, you can do this. No problem...

A 700mb cd will hold up to 800mb of mpeg data on it without overburning by using mode 2. Video cds do not use error correction that regular data cds do so they can hold more.

If you are having a problem putting 748-753mb of mpeg on a cd then there is something wrong. Ensure in nero that you are selecting a vcd or svcd project.

If you enable overburning in nero and you burner supports it you should be able to get around 820mb on each cd.

          One more thing:
did u specify your NERO to burne more than 74 min?
          File/Preferences/Expert Features/Max CD length.

u have to put there your CD time (-10sec! y? don't know. ot recommended).

          Good Luck

I have tried to download Winin CD5.0 in digital-digest download page, VCDhelp and Yahoo. However I could not find it. Would anyone know where I can download Winin CD 5.0? Thanks.
