I don't understand exactly. The file information you are showing is already a VCD compliant MPEG, so why would you want to convert it?

If I understand correctly, you are having a problem playing back a successful video CD burn. Is that correct? You already made a video CD but playback only gives you audio?

I have a pretty good idea where you got the video, but we won't mention it here. I'm getting a copy of the same file. I'll check it out and see if I can reproduce the problem you are having.

I've never burned a video CD that would play audio only. They usually will play, or won't play. I'm curious.

Most likly. Just burn the CD using i.e. Nero Burning Rom. Make sure u uncheck the box 4 standad 1 Tag in VCD Dialog (i don't know exacly what the caption is in English I Use the German Version).

If u did it right NO rreencoding will occur.

If it doesn't playback the Video on ur DVDPalyer u should check if ur DVD is NTSC30 compatible. Might be it only likes PAL or NTSC 24 Movies.

The Video itself is not a standard VCD might be that's where the error comes from. If nothings works 4 you try reencoding it using TMPGEnc (the Qulity suffers badly by reencoding, but where is the choise? - buying another copy won't solve the problem now will it )

U might want to create a VCD with 352*288 CBR (a lot of DVD don't like VBR) and a Bitrate of about 1500. This should be perfektly compatible with your DVD. Make sure to use a fitting NTSC 30 template.

If u find out that ur DVD doen't like NTSC 4 some reason (if u live in the USA this is most linky not the case) u got to PullDown the Movie (Advanced settigns) - better Qulity will be acomplished if u pull down the audio seperately using BeSweet.

Assuming you got the video from the same source as I did. I got the video, brings back a few memories for me. That was the last "hit" bon jovi had after I finished high school. Their stuff before that song was much better in my opinion. Good video though.

Good quality and also already VCD compliant. I had no problems with playback when I burned it to a video cd, no need to convert the file or change it in any way, etc.

The file worked fine when burned to VCD using B's Recorder Gold, and also worked fine using Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, both running under Windows XP home.

As popular as NERO is, I was turned off by it long ago. I guess it's because nero tries to be more than what I need. In short, it complicates tasks that should be simple. If I needed more advanced features for burning CD's, fine, I might use it. But video CD's, audio cd's, iso data cd's, are a 'brain dead' task. doesn't require complicated control or settings to make a video cd. especially when your file is already up to video cd specifications. Played fine on both home DVD/VCD players I own. One player is 6 years old, the other is 6 Months old. (both are JVC)

My home theater players will usually just refuse to read the disk, or will freeze at some point if the original file had some kind of error. In short, it will play, or it wont. Never had audio/video play seperately.

As far as burning software goes, I found that nero just gives me lots more room for making mistakes. I had better luck with burning programs that are much simpler.

I'm afraid I can't add anything else. I have no problem using old/new players or different disc brands, or different burning software. I had no problems at all playing the video CD.

oh well, the thread goes on...

HEY SAMBILIN, I don't mean to be rude, but I've read your posts and you should probably back off on giving advice.

I mean, it sounds like you're in the process of learning much and you're jazzed about it and that's good.

I'm sure you will enrich the forum by doing your part. It's just that there are quite a few newbies in here and your posts are well, downright wrong, and may be misleading. You have some of the right idea's, but you're applying them to the wrong situations.

You asked me in another post roughly "what does the movie info have to do with it". (a screenshot of Virtualdub file info)

Search the forum by username and it will show you your previous posts.

The file info is EVERYTHING. I mean, de-multiplexing an Xvid AVI? surely you were kidding, right? and if you have to ask that question, then you need to learn a bit more.

I can tell that you are learning, and that's good. But there is such a thing as learning "just enough to be dangerous".

Metephorically speaking, you've learned to strike a match. Now learn how to control a blaze, then come back and give fire safety advice.

            Peace on you.
