    DVD2SVCD splitting movie

When I convert from avi to svcd, it splits the movie into two cd's. How can I change this? I understand the quality will suffer, but it's much more convenient not having to change cd's.

On a side note, I'm having problems burning the isos after converting. I often have to throw away the cd-r since it aborted half-way. It seems CDRWIN works better than Nero 5.0 (which I used earlier), but the cd's still sometimes get ruined.

    Help appreciated.

Damnit I just typed a long tut on how to make this with DVD2SVCD and the registration massed it up. I'm in no mood to type this a second time 4 it was about a complete printed page.

I will send this post now and then try to edit it, so i will at least know that this somehow works *gggggggrrrrr*

    OK here we go again:

this will be very short and i do not visit this site often enough to answer questions. But when u know the progs u will know what to do...
    • Get the XVCD template 4 TMPGEnc (TE) from:

      h**p://xvcd.intercom-services.de/templates.htm

      look 4:

      2pass PAL25 (xvcd, 352x288, mpeg-1, 192bit audio jointstereo-44.1kHz, 300-2.300 bit video, passend 80min/700mb Rohl.)

      2pass NTSC24 (xvcd, 352x240, mpeg-1, 192bit audio jointstereo-44.1kHz, 300-2.300 bit video, passend 80min/700mb Rohl.)

      2pass NTSC30 (xvcd, 352x240, mpeg-1, 192bit audio jointstereo-44.1kHz, 300-2.300 bit video, passend 80min/700mb Rohl.)

choose the fitting one 4 your DVD NTSC1/2 or PAL
    • Start DVD2SVCD (D2S)

      - Audio Bitrate = 128 or 192
      - Encoder = TE
      - CHoose your language (1 only space is rare on a 1 CD movie)
      - don't bother with other settings
    • Rip and Convert
    • we only use D2S for

      - ripping
      - audio Extraction
      - audio transcoding to mp2
      - frameserver-setup (AviSynth)
    • while D2S performce these tasks (about 1-2 h)
    • when TE is launched close it and wait 4 D2S to save some bbMPEG multiplexing setting - ignore all other things fom D2S now (it will of cause complain for the missing movie file)
    • Start TE manually

      - Video Source = AviSynth_Script_File.avs
      - Audio Source = Encoded_Audio_1.mp2
both are in the movie folder (subfolder in D2S installation path) as long as u didn't change the folder setting of D2S in the Misc Tag
      - Source Range = all (sounds logically)
      - Clip Frame = cut left and right black borders
      - Arrange Settings = No Margin (Keep Aspect Ratio)
      - AudioBitrate must match D2S settings
      - after changing the Audio Bitrate u must reactivate the auto checkbox for the VideoBitrate
    • Start encoding and
    • close D2S when TE has finished encoding.
    • thanks 4 choosing my way of ripping

Any other method of ripping to a non-standard VCD (the only possible choise 4 a 1 CD movie, will result in a worse Quality. Use this method and be amazed
