    svcd audio stuttering

I have been trying to convert several avi's without luck. I have tried converting from avi to mpg using tmpgenc and get no audio. If I cut the avi first I get a few minutes of perfect audio then nothing. I have tried extracting the wav audio with virtual dub uncompressed, then use tmpgenc to convert the avi and wav to mpg. I used the directions in this thread, but I still get the choppy audio.

If I download an already converted svcd movie and burn it it plays perfect. I don't know how many different ways I've tried this and it winds up the same. Right now I'm converting an avi to mpg that I extracted and re-ccompressed and merged with the ave to see if that makes a difference. I'm pulling what little hair I have left out. I'm sorry if I didn't use the propery terminology, or have left out something pertinent, but I'm new to video. I appreciate any help.

Have you played this audio-only file, to make certain that it's not the "choppy" culprit?

By the way, what was the audio format of the original .AVI?

Yes, the audio file plays fine, it also plays just fine as an avi using powerdvd.

Mpeg layer-3 is what several of the movies say. I have one that says divx audio, but I havn't tried it yet. I have tried on about 4 different movies.

I'm trying the divx audio movie right now. I chopped it in half as an avi and the sound was still there, so I cut about 10 minutes of the movie I am converting th svcd and am going to put on a cdrw to see how it works. I should know in a little while.

Nope, the divix audio does the same thing.
