    vcd help with bitrate with better qulity than 352 288

    hi i am working with flaskmpeg bbmpeg
    i make a lot off vcd s its working fine on my stand alone player
    but i have find out a better resolutiun 640 480
    its a good thing!!!!!!!!!!
    you can burn it on a vcd and looks fine!!!
    but now im working another film with 640 480 making mpeg1 pal 25 fr but the bitrate off 1150000 im not so glad about it!
    can any one tell me what is a better bitrate to play correctly without blocks?????
    dont tell me stoopids things!

    vcd has always a resolution of 352x288 and a fixed bitrate (as given in your post). You have made a xvcd. I'm pretty sure that you can take a higher bitrate when making an xvcd. (apperently your dvd-player can play those xvcd's) Have you tried to encode to svcd (480x576, max. bitrate of 2520 kbit/s)?

      VCDhelp.com states the xvcd was supposedly a compromise between the vcd and svcd formats. It is supposed to provide higher bitrates, however it is not widely supported.

      VCDhelp.com may have some information on xvcd's.
