    352 x 288 or 384 x 288

I'm capturing movies using TV tuner. Till now I've used 384x288 size, because this is TRUE 4:3 format.
Now I want to make some VCD. But here the standard is 352x288 (why? this is not 4:3). I know that I can crop it in TMPGEnc, but then I lose some information.

Question is: What is the best solution? Always capturing using 352x288 size and then I don't need to adjust the size or there is some other solution with 384x288.

    Thanks

Have you tried creating (in TMPGEnc) and burning a 384x288 as a "non-conforming" or "non-standard" VCD? It just may play properly...

If you do resizing in virtual dub or TMPEnc while keeping aspect ratio, then your aspect ratio doesn't change. So if you captured from a normal tv the aspect ratio will still be 4x3 while resized to 352x288.

When I capture from tv I resize with virtual dub to 352x288 without cropping and all that stuff. Only when you watch it full screen on your computer (or on your dvd-player) it will look "normal".
