Problem with DVDLab with MPG and AVI files

I have a bunch of files that are in MPG and AVI format that I want to be able to put on a DVD using DVDLab. I wanted to have a Title screen and be able to select which one plays.

Now I know that DVDLab supports SVCD but I believe the MPG files are in MPG1 format not MPG2 plus I have AVIs.

Now there are about 12 1/2 hour files I wanted to put on there, but first I somehow have to convert them to a format that DVDLab likes probably SVCD I would think.

Can anyone help me as to I would do that?

I'm trying to make this as a present for a friend of mine, any help would be great, thanks!

The best tool I have found for converting anything into a DVD complient format is TMPGEnc. you can get a 30 day trial version from here:

    TMPGEnc,3.0 XPress,tmpg,mpg,mpeg,encoder,TMPG,tmpgenc,video,DVD-Video,AVI,QuickTime,converter,convert,movie,movies

Convert them all into MPG2 with CBR Ausio for the best results.

DVDLab will author your MPEG1 (VCD compliant) files to dvd as the mpeg1 vcd size is also a dvd standard, and it will automatically convert the audio from 44.1khz to 48khz.

The AVI must be converted first, best would be to convert directly to dvd compliant mpeg2 and then author in DVDLab.
