    BIG problems with avi files!!

I´ve downloaded some good video files, but they are in avi format. The quality when i´m watching them at the computer is just perfect. The BIG problem is wmp, nero, tmpgenc, winavi... any normal player or video convertor i´ve tried doesn't seem to support the file?! What´s wrong with it? So I can´t burn it to vcd because i can´t convert it to mpeg (because nero doesn´t support them too)!!
Please someone help me because i realllllllyyyyyy wanna watch those videos in my dvd!!!
    Thanks a lot!

    1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

      Good evening,

You can also verify your format with utilitarian videos: videotoolbox, avicodec or gspot

        thanks a lot!!!

        Thank you everyone!
I downloaded VirtualDub and it doesn´t open the video either.
Here is the information in the error box it opens:
"Couldn´t locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown)
Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Direct show codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable".

That´s the message that opens when i try to load the file into VirtualDub.
I don´t know what it means, so please help me!!!!

        Thanks a lot again!
        Hope you can help me!

          Good evening,

          It is strange: " XVID".
In short, it is necessary for you to install the XVID codec, but make the choice to install the satsuki decoder pack 1.0.4.4

              Good evening,

It's by the service that one manages to understand itself.
It's by the dialogue that one recognizes itself and that one can help each other.
I think that it is the goal searched for by a forum.

              To soon
