        Hi,
I downloaded the trial version of Xilisoft.
But there was no manual included, so I don't know how to use the program.
I cannot understand how they can think that someone will buy anything like that.
        Without knowing what they get.

Pinnacles Studio 9 want AVI or MPEG2-files . I can try to rename VOB to MPG but I don't think that will be enough.
Do you mean that VOB has excactly the same format as MPEG2?

A compliant vob will have the same video and audio specs as a compliant mpeg. A vob can have some extras in it. Use Avicodec, Gspot or Virtualdub mpeg2 and load an mpeg in it then author the mpeg to make it a vob and load it into one of the programs and you will see that the video and audio specs are the same.

Virtualdubmod read's vobs, and you can save in avi.
Rejig, rips .vobs to m2v/ac3 which you can then mux.

"TMPGEnc DVD Author" will output titlesets from DVDs as standalone mpeg-2 files.

"i downloaded "TMPGEnc DVD Author" but i cant work out how to convert vob to mpeg"

After you select the TITLE and click on "Next", put a checkmark next to "Copy the clip video data to the HDD" and then click next. You'll find an MPEG file has been saved to your hard drive - at the location indicated below "Copy the clip video data to the HDD"...
