Convert an avi to dvd

Anyone know of any freeware for converting an avi to dvd for playback on a dvd player?

not in store. free from the web. not sure if they're on this site. you can check. if not get them here in the tools section www.videohelp.com

Interface is quite straight forward to use and its for free !!!!! GNU and works (i use it).
