    problems encoding to SVCD

Hello, this is the first time I'm trying to format to SVCD and can't seem to figure it out. I followed the guide succesfully for VCD but would like to get better quality with SVCD. I've tried several times to Flask to SVCD but at the end the first error I see is a BBMpeg box that says can't read some temp file. Then I see there are some data offsets in the messages as well a note that says "the resulting file may not play back correctly, try reducing the video bitrate or increasing the video and audio startup delays". The last time I tried I had checked the 'use computed bitrate' box, but that seemed to cause the audio and video to not match up. Even though I get errors it seems to create a file but when I try to split the file in two it hangs around 150 mb. Any suggestions I what I should try next? I'm totally confused at this point.

    Thanks,

ps. I've attached the Flask messages file if anyone needs it!

Flask has never been great for me for SVCD/DVD or MPEG2 in general, so I would try using TMPGenc, its generally much better than Flask and also supports AVI input.

Yes, I've been browsing all the guides and will try to Flask DVD to AVI then to SVCD. I've seen a guide on using Flask to convert to AVI first, then use TMPGenc to convert to SVCD, can you use TMPGenc to first convert to AVI as well?, or can you recommend another encoder for DVD to AVI??

      Thanks!

As far as I know TMPGenc doesn't support AVI files so you'd have to use Flask to convert into AVI first. As for other DVD to AVI encoders I'm not sure; just check around Digital Digest to find programs and test them.

ack, soz I didn't mean that in the way I said it. TMPGenc will output to AVI files, yes, but it doesn't support VOB files (as far as I know, again I'm not totally sure) so although you can output to AVI you won't be able to load the VOB to convert to AVI in the first place. Hope this helps.
