VCD sound problem

Sorry guy's if this is a dumb question but i am only learning at this stage and need help..

I have converted an MPG using Nero to VCD and it play's without any problem on the PC drives, pictures and sound, but when i play it on my standalone DVD player the picture is great but the sound is out of sync. by about 1-2 seconds. WHY!!!!!

You may want to convert to vcd using TMPGEnc instead, and then burn a data cd with NERO or another burning software. You may need to split the VCD, TMPGEnc will allow you to do this.

I have tried using TMPENC as the original file i had was in AVI format.
Conversion went ok to mpg and it plays ok on the PC. The file sizes are ok as i have already split them down using FX Splitter

Any other idea's would be of great help...

If you've somehow managed to create a VCD with an audio frequency of 48,000Hz, instead of the compliant 44,100 Hz, this is most probably the cause of your problem - as most standalone players "gag" on VCDs with this higher frequency...
