Convert DVD 2 SVCD Using TMPGEnc

I want to convert at least 45 minutes of dvd video to SVCD Mpg2 on an 80min disc, Can I lower the bitrate so this will play on a standalone DVD player, without losing too much quality on video & sound.

I use Smartripper to strip DVD to HDD, Then use DVD2AVI, Then Convert Sound with VOB2Audio, And finally put sound and video in TMPG Encoder.

I can get almost 60 minutes of converted dvd onto an 80min disc (in svcd format ) using tmpeng (if you use the 65 template-hit the 'load" tab) .You should be able to get 45 mins on under the 85 template though with no-worries, wot are you doing?
I generally find that if there are more than 80,000 frames then this will equate to 80 mims.
