I wouldn't use Nero. Try VCDEasy instead. IMHO, it's better than Nero (at creating (S)VCDs) and more efficient.

First of all, make sure you are dragging your MPEGs to be burned are dropped into the _BOTTOM_ half of the window, the one that doesn't show the file structure of the VCD.

Second of all, those other files you mentioned are added automatically. They have to be there, it's part of the VCD standard. Do _NOT_ get rid of them! They are essential!

                Hope this helps.

                    ?????????????

                    hello yall

i have a few problems/questions, as the topic reply i try to convert avi to mpeg/vcd so far i have a few problems converting (some) divx/avi file: (Im using Windows XP btw)

                    1. I have TMPGenc Plus 2.5, i try to encode avi to mpeg using this proggie, it said : "blabla.avi cannot open or unsupported" , i already install Divx_311 alpha from this site, but still wont work!

                    2. I try use VirtualDub to seperate the audio (from the same avi file i use in #1), it gave me this error : "Invalid AVI file: LIST chunk at 10240 extends outside of parent by 110279186 bytes"

                    3. Finally I used Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder, but the final result of my mpeg is messy, the sounds is distorted, jumpy, kind of have like 1 secs gap in between music or dialogue

Is there any other way to seperate audio from avi besides using VirtualDUb or can you guys tell me whats the error on #2 ?

                    Thanks a lot

Just use the wizard in Nero. You will not go wrong.
Nero will pick the right setting for you. Only handeling you have to do is to drag the files to the left side.
Make sure that your .mpg files are ready. If not, convert them with TMPGenc 2.56. Otherwise Nero will comvert them but the quality is worse than conversion by TMPGenc

If your are familiar with TMPGenc, try to use the high quality, or even the highest quality setting in the Advance-tab. Mark also the noise reduction and the ghost reduction. But it last ages to convert. one hour movie last more than 12 hrs on a 667 MHz PC!!!

My opinion is that the different between the high q setting and the highest is minimum. To save time, use the h.q. is good enough for VCD.
