TMPGenc Problem: not encoding whole VOB

    HELP please
TMPG is driving me nuts since a couple of days.
After ripping a DVD into two vob-files with smartripper (the first is 3 GB and the second around 2,7 GB) I am not able to encode the first of them. With the second no problems at all.
Apearently the movie is only two minutes long, and when encoding TMPG is done after this and ignores the rest of the file.
    Any hint?
    Thanks a lot in advance

Are you able to PLAY the first .VOB file, all the way through (presumably far more than two minutes for 3Gigs), on your PC?

      Hi Setarip,
thanks for the interest in my post.

I am using a hardware decoder (creative dxr3) and can not playback none of the vobs. I think they are simply to large.

With PowerDVD I can not open any files, the program installed on windows2000 is not offering the possibility (well perhaps I just didn't try hard enough the hardwaredecoder is doing a good job and has a good-working TV-exit)

So I coultn't really try if the files are ok.

I ripped the DVD again, this time vob by vob. TMPG is doing a nice job now. Well that means I have to merge the files together at the end, more work but also a little brake where the files are merged. I can live with that basically, but its not really perfect, you know

Still wondering, why the program was working well with other movies ripped in one single VOB (up to 3,5 GB) and now it works well only with the second VOB (still very large) and doesn't work with the first one.
