    Corrupted sound avi -> mpeg1

    I'm sorry if this was answered in the past I wasn't able to find anything so I will ask.

    I have an AVI file from #tmdmovies which I want to convert to vcd. I have tried
    avi2vcd, avi2mpg, nero vcd maker, tmpgenc (both with compressed audio and decompressed audi)

    In all cases my resultant MPEG has corrupted sound like a constant background bubbling noise/cracling.
    I managed to get one with ok sound but the audio was out of sync.

    Does anyone have a definitive solution on creating VCDs from these type of avi.

    I am also curious about how to extract the audio into wav and reintegrate it is this a possible solution.

    Thanks

    Load the .AVI into VirtualDub. From under the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" and save with a new filename with a .WAV extender...

      Thanks for that I also managed to correct the playback problem of sound. Seems CPU lacked grunt coz something was stealing its time.
