    Changing mpeg Layer 3 TO Layer 1

    Hello. Boy I am glad I found this Forum. I have a movie thats MPEG Layer3. I burned it using Nero. When I tried to play it in my DVD player, I got Video but no Audio. I used TMNpeg Ver 2.53 to encode it to MPEG. I tried to go into the settings of TMNpeg but all settings are greyed out. I can't modify them. What is my problem and what can I do?

    Thanks for your advice

    1) "I tried to go into the settings of TMNpeg but all settings are greyed out. I can't modify them."

    Click on the "Load" radio button and then doubleclick on "Unlock.mcf"

    2) "I have a movie thats MPEG Layer3. I burned it using Nero. When I tried to play it in my DVD player, I got Video but no Audio."

    The problem is not that the audiostream is in .MP3 format, rather that it's in Variable Bit Rate (VBR) .MP3 format (which TMPGEnc cannot process) rather than Constant Bit rate (CBR) .MP3 format.Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio

    Simply use VirtualDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
    Load your original .AVI into VirtualDub
    From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"
    Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
    Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).

    You can then load both your silent .AVI and your .WAV audio file into TMPGEnc.

    Let us know of your success ;>}
