Is it possible in some way open a .vob file directly with TMPGEnc ?

I don't believe so. You will still need to use a frameserver for this purpose. -
It's possible Enchanter, renaming the .vob file as mpeg you can open the file without problems.

I think that yes, try it, I renamed the .vob to mpeg, and can edit, apply any filter and convert to mpeg2 with the SVCD wizard of TMPGEnc without problems. No frameserving, no lost of quality by reencoding, no nothing.Comment

You may find that you'll run into problems with:
1) Other than the first .VOB in the video sequence
2) Videos that have more than one audiostreamComment

Is true, I encountered problems with videos that have more than one audiostream but I can open and convert any of the seven .vob files of the blue seed DVD.Comment
