    VirtualDub - Which Audio Compression?

I trying to convert a file to VCD (see attached File Info from Virtual Dub).

I seperated out the audio but it was about 1 second ahead out of sync. To correct this I followed the guide for using VirtualDub to seperate Audio and Video so I could combine them back correctly by setting the Audio Delay (under Audio, Interleave menu).

The problem is when I come to select the Audio, Compression. The guide just says "choose the appropriate .MP3 setting". I'm new to this so when presented with losts of choices I wasn't sure which one to select (MP3, MPEG Layer 3......and then which type format within each). I tried selecting various ones within MP3 and MPEG-3 but when I create the AVI file it just seem to sitcounting up the time but no doing anything else!

I does work if I leave the compression as none but I end up with a huge AVI file.

    hope you can help
