    Help! I'm losing my mind!!!

    Help! Losing my mind!
I've been backing up our dvd collection for a short time now. I'm starting off with SmartRipper 2.41, then using dvd2avi for a frame server (VFAPI) and to extract the audio, then encoding with TMPGenc.
The sound is always ok, but video speeds up and then snaps back into sync. This only happens on stand alone dvd players (tried three different models).
I can take the same vcd disk, and the original mpg file and the entire movie plays perfectly on any computer. It only happens on stand alone players.
The current version of the TMPGenc is 2.56.
I'm using VCDEasy and NERO 5 to burn the vcd at speeds anywhere from 2X to 12X with no change in the movie.
I have stumbled on to the fact that if I demultiplex the mpeg file with TMPGenc and then remultiplex the video file by itself without the audio the movie plays ok with the stand alone players. I've tried both 44 and 48K audion files. I do know that when I switched from a 1.5 to a 2.2g P4 processor it now happens on every movie I try to encode.
If anyone has any ideas, please email me at mmgrover@tctelco.net or mike@lexinet.net.
    Thanks.
