Adding Subtitles to an MPEG ?

    Hi All..

I have an MPEG Movie ..

and I have the subtitles file for this movie in ( .srt ) and ( .txt ) formats using SubRip.

Now how can I join this Subtitle file to the MPEG so that whenever I play the MPEG with any Player I get the subtitles on the screen ?

A good program is VirtualDub.exe. There are some "plugs" u have to add, and then to work on your AVI file (before u change it to mpeg).

silo99 Thanks .. do you have experience with Virtual Dub? cause this is the program I am trying and getting stuck in the final step..

I used VirtualDub after using VFAPI to make an AVI out of my MPEG, then added the subs using the filters.. when I reached the Frameserving point in VirtualDub and it asks me to create a ( vdr ) file.. Then it creates a file with the name I have chosen but without .vdr extension .. just the file_name(dot)nothing ! The Framserving window opens without any digits changes.. all the fields on 0 .. I run TMPEnc and try to open the file I have created in VirtualDub as Video Input but it gives me an error saying invalid or unspoorted file!

Do you know what is wrong with my steps?

      Thanks for your concern.

Which version of VirtualDub are you using?

If you are using 1.4.10 you need to have 'MSVCR70.DLL' in the windows directory! Otherwise the frameserver will fail!

Sorry my friend for the delay, I had some problem. I didn't use yet the VirtualDup with Mpeg. I only convert betwen compressing type, add subtitles, and frame convert (to 25 for PAL system.)
there r about 20 plugs for the V.D on site

I didn't check all of them, but I think they can b hepfull.

          Good-Luck
