Playback Breaks up into block effects

I been having trouble with my VCDs breaking up part way through the movie into blocks like the movie is breaking up. I use FLask to make the DivX. Then TMPGenc to make the VCD and then VCDEasy to add chapters. Any ideas on what to try....I been doing many tests to figure it out and had no luck. And suggestions are welcome. Thanx!!

use the cvd template for TMPGEnc and encode with cvd. cvd is better for your case

I don't see no such template. Maybe I am not looking correctly. Could you maybe point me in the direction? Thanx again for the help.

Does this "breaking up of the image" occur ONLY when playing the VCD on your standalone DVD player, or does it also occur when you play the burned VCD/CD-R on your PC?

If it occurs ONLY on the standalone player, try using a DVD/CD cleaning disk. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10U.S.

Hmmmmmm........good point. I will have to try it in my pc. I did notice that if it does it at say 15:10 into the movie and i go back to the chapter before at around 10:50 and then let it play it does not breakup. Once I catch it it usually does not do it again at the same place if I go back to see if it will do it. I will have to watch it on my pc and get back to u.....thanx for the help, greatly appreciated!!!!
