cutting tool compatible with roxio cd creator 5

using roxio cd dreator 5 and allinwonder video card .nnno problems in copying video and burning vcd with roxio which works great on my hp machine.Am playing back on apex 500w..no problems.What I want to do is save movies then cut them into segments to put on more than one vcd.What I'm doing now is stopping the recording and restarting it in middle of movie and losing a few seconds of movie.Tried the tpmg editor but there is a loss of sync between the audio and video.Dont care if I have to pay for a program to edit mpeg1 files just want one where I can copy movie then cut into segments that will fit vcd.Cant make any adjustment to the roxio program..it wont record at anything else except preset settings..tried nero but it doesnt like my ccomputer.Does anyone know of an editing program payware or freeware that works with roxio(adaptac) creator vcd and wont get voice audio mismatch when editing which is what happens with tmpgen.Thanks

That shouldn't be happening. You're not trying to save the VCD-format MPEG1 with 48,000 sound, are you? If so, select 44,100 and see if it doesn't make your synch problem disappear ;>}
