    NERO ruined my SVCD-files

I've a really weird problem. A couple of days ago I made several SVCD-clips. That went fine, I can play them with my Elecard player and also in WMP6.4 using the Elecard decoder.

After that I used Nero 5.5 to burn them on a CD in order to wath them on my new DVD player. That went perfect again.

As a last step I wanted to view those SVCD's on that CD-ROM on my computer. This went perfect using the Elecard player, but this time WMP6.4 failed to play them ("no combination of filters found to render this stream" it said).

??? How is that possible, what did Nero do to my SVCD-files besides renaming them? Which filter do I have to install to play them with WMP6.4?

The files have been modified (a header has been added) to make the true cd-based SVCD recognized and playable on a standalone player. Windows Media Player doesn't recognize true SVCD format - but a software DVD player, such as WinDVD, will.

One can only hope that you've saved your earlier hard drive versions.
