    MP3 channels

    Hi again.

    I swore i had it.....

what software is there that u can encode wav to mp3 also having options of dual stereo, stereo and joint stereo?

also, what codec ( if any ) is there to capture audio directly to dual-stereo or joint stereo?

    Thanks

    Lame certainly does it.
I have what is probably an old version (3.70) and am bound by the command line but it definately has (s)tereo, (j)oint, (f)orce or (m)ono switches.

    re: capture? No idea.

    Cheers-

You can also use RazorLame, among many other similar softwares, for a GUI-based LAME encoder. It has the option for Joint Stereo, Stereo and such. No idea on the capture problem though, as I don't do captures.

"what software is there that u can encode wav to mp3 also having options of dual stereo, stereo and joint stereo?"

The Radium MP3 codec control panel allows you to set these options for each available sampling rate...

If, by "encode .WAV to .MP3" you wish to convert an existing .WAV file to a .MP3 file, you can certainly use GoldWave or similar, in conjunction with the aforementioned Radium .MP3 codec set to your preferences, to accomplish this...

Audiocatalyst too, though it's not free
It also rips&encodes from CDs nicely.
