Some obvious questions...
1. What program(s) did you use to rip the movie with?
2. Has previous movies turned out well using them?
3. Have you tried different players instead of Power DVD player to view your Star Wars Rip?.
4. What divx codec version are you using?
5. Is this a 1 cd rip or 2?
6. What Resolution are you encoding the movie in?
7. What Bits*(Pixels/frame) was the movie coded in?
The more info you supply, the more accurate our help will be. -

Re: Help With Star Wars
when I rip the movie the quality of the video is bad when i watch then in power dvd.
Since I dont know what episode of Star wars you are watching, my first *guess* would be, that if its an 'early' episode then it could be a re-mastered copy from the original tape which has'nt been tweaked and cleaned up for output on DVD as well as it could be?. There doesnt appear to be any problems with your Power DVD since you say it plays fine on other DVD's.Comment

Try re-ripping the DVD with DVDDecrypter, which will let you know of any errors/problems during the ripping (realtime).
It's possible that SpeedRipper may arbitrarily skip "problem" sectors without generating error messages.
I have found DVDDecrypter to be, far and away, the best DVD ripping software presently available.
Let us know of your success ;>}Comment

To uklawman
A very minor point of clarification. "rfs830" is perfectly correct in referring to having "ripped" the Star Wars DVD.
"Ripping" is a reference to (eliminating the DVD protection and) copying the resultant file(s) to your hard drive.
Subsequently creating a DivX (or other format) video is more correctly referred to as "converting".Comment
