    Dixv without losing quality...

I have a few Divx avi's on my pc, and when I play them, they look great. But when I convert them using TMPGEnc, I lose ALOT of video quality. Is there a way to convert without losing quality??

Whenever you convert from divx to another format you will lose quality:

    1) because or re-encoding
    2) vcd and svcd typically reduce the video resolution of divx files

You could try a tv-out? TMPGenc includes filters to possibly improve the conversion quality (Vcdhelp.com)

To attain higher quality utilize the svcd format should your dvd player support it.
