    Audio-Video sync problems

I have been making divx movies for 1 year now and I am dealing with this problem ever since. When I rip an NTSC(region 1) movie I always get sync problems.
I use dvd2avi to make my v-fapi files so I can make my divx with virtual dub.Region 2 movies have frame rate 25000fps.Region 1 movies have any other except that.I can only force the movie to have 24000fps frame rate.
Anyway, when I make the .avi and the .mp3 file, they haven't got the same length.Example, "I am Sam' movie,is a perffectly playing .avi movie,a perfectly playing .mp3 file,BUT the avi is of duration 2h12m10sec and the mp3 is 2h12m15sec.So when I blend them,i get a sync problem.I tried to fix it with nandub but no use,the sound interleave corrects one spot of the movie and everything else is screwed and the frame rate forcing does no good.I thought of cutting off 5 secs from the .mp3 and try again but again I got nothing. What should I do?Please help if you know and sorry for being borring.

i had the very same problem with Con Air. the thing is not to change the delay or framerate (yourself).

u should open nandub/vdub goto video => frame rate => and then choose 'change framerate so video and audio duration match'

tell us how u get on
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Thanks pal.I did that already but nothing happened.I also used audio interleave, but then again nothing happened.I made the video large so the bitrate is better,so I tried to seperate it in pieces following the guide in divx digest (http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/cutavi.html) and here's what I got.The first file was 780mb and the video-audio sync was just ok.The second file 610mb but the sync was lousy. In the article though theres a guide for synchronising the video and audio.I could not use it because either I am too stupid to understand, either it is wrong.Read the equation on part 9 in fixing audio sync and if you can understand it help me too(the result is wrong).I think the problem is that the movie,is encoded with different frame rate and the audio with different.Thats why the audio lasts longer than the video.Do you have any other ideas?

if its a ntsc film you should use either 29 or 23.967 not 24.
and then the audio will match.
