The past week or so I've been hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out why the audio sync works nearly always on my Athlon 1.4 system and never on my P3 733 or P3 450 (at work). Well today I finally solved the audio sync problem on my P3 450 at work. I'll try it on my P3 733 at home tonight but I think it'll work there too 'cause I have the exact same sound card in both machines!
This is what I did, I went into dxdiag (run dxdiag) from the prompt, then go to the Direct Sound tab, and set the hardware acceleration setting to BASIC. Once I did that, the audio sync problems vanished magically. I was so surprised that it worked I almost danced around like a fool.
I hope if someone of you try this, you let me know if it helps.
