S-Mpeg 4 version 3 ??????????

help please.
i got this movie sitting on the puter at the mo.at first i couldn`t get it play but i then downloaded media player version 7 and now it plays but i still can`t open it in tmpgenc or lsx encoder???
i have ran gspot on it and that tells me the codec is not installed.
is there any other way of converting this file to mpg???
