about a compressors

Hi pals.
I looking for a kind of avi's compressor. I have a tv show in video cassettes, I pass it to avi but each chapter has more than 700 mb. I need to know something about a compressor... or something to make it little. It's just personal, it's not for sale. I dont want to lose it.

YES!!! Use DIVX!. Install the codec from divx-digest.com and then install an editor (like virtual dub). open the avi file and then goto video and compression (I think) and click on the DIVX codec and click settings or configure. (assuming you have installed DIVX3.11alpha) use fast motion with 6000 bitrate and 10 or 20 key frame and 75 crisp. then click ok and in the audio select the compression as MP3 audio.

File and save avi and all should be well.
