how to use 2 pass DIVX convertion?

I have been using Virtual-dub with Divx4 Fast Motion to convert Mjpeg AVIs to Divx. I want to try the 2 pass method with Divx4.12.
Where can I find step by step instructions with suggested settings on how to do this?
