DivX to DivX question - for experts

I'm making anime subtitles in portuguese, and i'm getting the unsubbed DivX files to do it. I'm using SSA to make the subtitles and the timing, and Virtual Dub for encode. I have one DivX file to subtitle, with 200MB. My question:

I'm using DivX 4.11 with default configuration, on Virtual Dub. I'm ripping the file in 1200kbps of video and 128kbs of sound, but the quality is becoming worse when appears scenes with high motion. And I don't know why, because the file is becoming bigger, around 225MB.
Which is the best configuration of DivX 4.11 or some filter, that i can encode the subbed file with the same quality (or very near quality) as the unsubbed file?

    Thanks,
    Tanma

When you recompress an already-compressed file, there is bound to be some loss in quality. Even if you compressed the DivX file in, say, 6000kbps or some other ultra-high bitrate the resulting file would still be of inferior quality to the original. The same goes for audio mp3 files too, recompress it enough times and it starts to sound funny ...
